I’m a dietitian mom who is also a scrunchy mom so that means we allow candy in our home year round AND we encourage our little ones to listen to their bodies.

“Are you still hungry? If so, let’s eat some fat & protein to help fill your belly!”

“Oh you want this candy, sure! I love that flavor.”

“No thank you, I don’t want more candy so that my tummy doesn’t hurt!” (Demonstrating how to listen to your body)

There’s nothing scarier than a child who has been deprived of candy all year for their “health” and is let loose on Halloween! 👻

There IS a place where ALL foods fit!

We also know that many kids have food allergies/sensitivities and other reasons they may not be able to eat candy so we include a variety of options.

Ahh what I free place to be! When you can just let yourself be!

No more measuring up to beauty standards, body size, having the cleanest house, having the most well behaved kids, thinking that someone is happier because of their big beautiful house, or wrinkle free skin. No more thinking your are better than someone for your calm cool conduct sippin on that oatmilk latte self help book in hand.

It’s a dead end!

And when it’s hard. Because inevitably it is, we can say Lord help me just live with you! At peace with who I am because that’s who YOU created me to be. Mess and all.

I can’t do it! Only You can!

And the outcome of that is always peace.

Homemade chicken pesto pasta recipe for ya! Start your week off with this family friendly recipe.

Grab some towels and let your littles join you! Messy, but such a fun way for them to learn about food and cooking🌿

Side note: This is a great way to introduce pine nuts (a potentially allergenic food) to your infant 👶🏼

Ingredients for Pesto:
• 2 cups fresh basil leaves (without the stem)
• 2 tbsp pine nuts
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
• 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
• 1 tsp lemon juice
• Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions:
• Add the basil, pine nuts, garlic, olive oil, Parmesan, lemon juice, and salt & pepper to a food processor or blender.
• blend until smooth
• prepare chicken & noddles
• pour the pesto mix over cooked noodles and chicken, stir
• sprinkle with grated Parmesan
• enjoy and share this recipe with a friend!
